Pharmacy Assistant

Our rapidly expanding team is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant who can work for us on a part time basis, supporting our clinic located in Guelph with an Ability to work early mornings and weekends when the need arises (determined on a study by study basis).

The Pharmacy Assistant will work closely with the Pharmacy Manager supporting the receipt, distribution, accountability, return and destruction activities for the Investigational Product for clinical trials.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a rapidly growing company based in scientific research and product development for the natural health/food/wellness sector.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receives and inventories investigational product for clinical trials as required
• Assists with re-packaging/re-labeling as required
• Performs handling and reconciliation of investigational products
• Accurately completes pharmacy documentation for each study
• Monitors for appropriate storage conditions and keeps record of storage conditions for all investigational products for the pharmacy
• Promotes safe medication practices in the clinic
• Promotes GXP compliance across the organization
• Performs other duties as required and as training and experience allow
• Maintains an attitude and philosophy consistent with the Company’s standards

Core Competencies:

• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (Health Canada, FDA) including Good Clinical Practice principles and industry standards
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment and to assess situations and problems efficiently and effectively
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; prioritize multiple concurrent projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with others.
• Ability to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals/Natural Health Product dispensing within the pharmacy function of a pharmaceutical/CRO/Devices/Natural Health Product company
• Pharmacy Experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
