The Omega ScoreTM and DHA ScoreTM tests are available globally. The results are provided in an easy to understand report with value added interpretation of the relevant scientifically proven cut-offs.

Omega ScoreTM (blood)- The Omega ScoreTM test is also known as the Silent Inflammation Profile (SIP), AA/EPA ratio, or Omega-3 Index. The Omega ScoreTM testing facility has full Health Canada approvals and is also covered under some U.S. insurance plans and some Canadian employee benefit packages. The test has two CPT codes for U.S. insurance eligibility. Level of coverage in both the U.S. and Canada is dependent on the extent of each individual patient’s plan.

The Omega ScoreTM is an essential fatty acid test which looks at the biomarker known as serum/plasma phospholipid and correlates the results of the analysis directly to the clinical literature for EFA levels and heart health. Scores for blood LDL or C-reactive protein do not currently correlate to the Omega ScoreTM test and in no way replace the clinically significant risk reduction factors revealed through the Omega ScoreTM test results.

Fasting is not required for this test.

DHA ScoreTM (breast milk)- For the millions of breastfeeding women globally, the health of their baby is vitally important. Unfortunately, many women are unaware that DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), is a critical nutrient for their baby's health and is likely at low levels in their breast milk. This is due to inadequate consumption of fish and fish oil supplements, where DHA is predominantly found.

Controlled clinical trials have shown that when DHA in a sample of breast milk is equal to or greater than .35%, the result is an improvement in the Mental Development Index (MDI) and the Psychomotor Development Index (PDI). Most North American breast milk falls well below this target of .35% and is at .15% on average.

Through our DHA ScoreTM Breast Milk Test, breast feeding women world wide can confirm their DHA levels and ensure they are providing their infant optimal nutrition for brain function (learning ability, memory) and eye health (retina). Our DHA ScoreTM Breast Milk Test will also confirm the DHA supplement or DHA enriched diet being consumed by the mother is adequate for the baby to reach this crucial target.

Fasting is not required for this test.

What is the Mental Development Index?

The Mental Development Index or MDI is a scientifically mainstream accepted rating or score which measures the overall mental development of individuals and correlates to age. It evaluates several types of abilities including sensory, perceptual, memory, learning, problem solving, vocalization, abstract thinking and mathematical concepts. It is used with infants to assess overall mental development and confirm whether the infant's mental development is on track based on their age.

What is the Psychomotor Development Index?

The Psychomotor Development Index or PDI is a scientifically mainstream accepted rating or score designed to measure the progressive acquisition of skills involving both mental as well as motor activities in humans. It evaluates several types of abilities including body control, large muscle group coordination, manipulation skills of the hands and fingers, and the ability to recognize objects by touch. It is used with infants to assess overall physical and motor skill ability and confirm whether the infant's development in these areas is on track with their age.
